Bayon Temple

The Bayon temple is probably one of the most beautiful temples in Angkor area, and in many eyes the second in its beauty after Angkor Wat temple. Bayon temple is known for its 54 towers, decorated with 216 huge faces, smiling a mysterious smile, staring at the visitors from every corner.

Bayon temple is the main temple that was built by king Jayavarman VII inside Angkor Thom city.

It is recommended to arrive to the temple about two hours before sunset to tour in it before and during the sunset. During this time the huge faces are being lightened in beautiful reddish color.

Terrace of the Leper King

The Terrace of the Leper King, also situated inside Angkor Thom city, got its name from a genderless statue that is considered as the statue of king Yasovarman that died from leprosy disease. The walls of the terrace are sculptured with hundreds of impressive relief.
